Dr. Gregory J. Gonsalves has extensive experience in intellectual property law.  He has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications at the U.S. Patent Office including inter partes and ex parte reexaminations and reissue applications.  The patents that he has prepared have generated more than 25 million dollars in licensing fees for his clients.  He has participated in all aspects of patent litigation from the filing of a complaint through discovery, claim construction hearings, summary judgment proceedings, and trial.  He has served as first chair counsel at the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.  Dr. Gonsalves has also prepared and negotiated patent licensing agreements and prepared opinions regarding the infringement and validity of patents.  His work in intellectual property has involved a wide range of technologies including wireless communications, design automation of integrated circuits, crytography, electronic time stamping, supply chain management, telephone circuits, computer interfaces, microcontrollers and mobile devices.

Dr. Gonsalves also has substantial litigation experience in criminal matters, having served as first chair counsel at trial.

Dr. Gonsalves has a unique combination of legal and engineering skills.  He achieved a J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center.  He has a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering and more than ten years of experience as an electrical engineer and software developer at IBM and elsewhere.
