Rajeev Rohatgi, Ph.D.

Rajeev is a registered Patent Agent with over 20 years of engineering experience in a range of industries including instrumentation, telecommunications, and medical devices. Rajeev has held senior positions at Medeikon Corp., PhotoDetection Systems, Inc., and SierraCom Inc. He has also held research staff positions at Stanford University and Lawrence Livermore National Labs.

Rajeev’s primary areas of expertise include: electronic circuits and applications, RF-microwave-wireless, and networks and communications. Additional areas of competence include computers and peripherals, software and algorithms, medical devices, optics, alternative energy, and sensors.

Rajeev has developed his experience over a number of unique systems. At Medeikon, Rajeev led the company’s efforts in software development and electronics design toward development of a fiber optic cardiovascular probe. Earlier, at PhotoDetection Systems, he made key algorithm contributions for a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner for whole-body medical imaging. At SierraCom, Rajeev was project manager for a 60 GHz radio for terrestrial communication links. Other projects in which Rajeev has had active hands-on involvement include a commercial RF lock-in amplifier (Stanford Research Systems), a positron trap experiment (Lawrence Livermore National Labs), and the world’s first visible-light Free Electron Laser (Stanford University).

Rajeev obtained a Master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both in Physics. He is an inventor on three U.S. patents, two issued and one allowed.
