Eugene possesses over thirty years experience as a business and technology development professional. He has specific experience in championing new product initiatives, having applications within the semiconductor and aerospace industries.
Prior to joining Technology, Patents & Licensing, Eugene directed a boutique consultancy which provided business and market development services to emerging, technology-based companies, economic development organizations, and colleges and universities looking to engage in sponsored contract research opportunities. He was instrumental in the establishment of an intellectual property assessment protocol — including triage analysis and commercialization strategies — at Villanova University’s College of Engineering. This accomplishment, along with his crafting of the successful application for Commonwealth funding (Keystone Innovation Zone grant), led to establishment of a center focused on National Security and Homeland Defense (located in Chester, PA).
Eugene has also worked at Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, where he assisted emerging technology-based companies to achieve product development goals and commercial success by providing access to investment capital and technology resources. Prior to joining Ben Franklin Technology Partners, he worked at Hercules Incorporated in a variety of roles, including technical lead of the Electronic and Printing Products division’s M&A team, Manager in the International Licensing Department, and finally Business Development Analyst for the Hercules Aerospace Company. Finally, he worked at GAF Corporation (and later Horizons Research, Inc.) to develop a new line of photolithographic material for use in printed circuit and semiconductor fabrication.
Eugene received a B.S. in Chemistry from Fordham University and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Organometallic Chemistry from St. John’s University (NY), where he was elected to Sigma Xi. Eugene holds three U.S. patents and has authored three technical papers and one monograph.
